Petrol Crisis: Criminal Cases Against CEO’s of Oil Hoarders Companies Recommended

Karachi: An investigation on hoarding of petrol by the various oil and gas manufacturers companies has been started on the orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan while the fuel crisis committee has recommended lodging of criminal cases against two CEOs.

On the direction of the premier a committee comprising Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP)  officers including all other respective officials, has been formed for the prevention of oil hoarding and black marketing which started its investigation.

The committee along with the members of FIA raided an oil field in Kemari and found a large stock of oil and the private company was deliberately not providing petrol while show-cause notice has been issued to the company while district administration has been informed regarding the lodging of the case.

The committee will also ensure the availability of petrol and will check oil as it will further visit Port Qasim, Shiakrpur, Dolat Pur, and Sanghi to check the storage of oil while companies responsible for artificial scarcity despite having ample stock will face criminal cases and their licenses will also be confiscated.

FIA has also started a formal probe into the matter and called chiefs of all the petroleum companies today.
