ISLAMABAD: The federal government is anticipated to bring relief to the public this New Year by reducing petroleum prices in the forthcoming fortnightly review.
According to reports, petrol prices may decrease by Rs10.60 per liter, while high-speed diesel rates are expected to see a reduction of Rs8.59 per liter.
Similarly, the cost of kerosene oil and light diesel oil is likely to drop by Rs8.92 and Rs6.62 per liter, respectively, starting from January 1.
The final decision regarding these adjustments will depend on the approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is scheduled to submit a working paper detailing the proposed price changes to the Ministry of Finance on December 31.
