ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has kept petroleum prices unchanged for August 11, maintaining the existing rates of petrol and diesel across the country.
According to an official notification, petrol will continue to be sold at Rs327.62 per litre, while high-speed diesel will remain at Rs380.86 per litre.
The decision means consumers will see no change in fuel prices for the day under the government’s latest pricing mechanism.
Dealers Weigh Strike Over Pricing Concerns
Meanwhile, concerns are mounting over a possible nationwide shutdown of petrol pumps as the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) considers its future course of action.
The association’s deadline for the Petroleum Ministry to address its demands has expired, prompting an emergency meeting to discuss potential protest measures, including a countrywide strike.
PPDA has also written to Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, urging immediate intervention to resolve the issues facing fuel dealers.
Association Chairman Malik Khuda Bakhsh said the daily adjustment of petroleum prices was creating serious financial difficulties for dealers by reducing the value of existing fuel stocks.
Vice Chairman Tariq Hasan warned that frequent price changes were particularly affecting small and medium-sized dealers, making business operations increasingly difficult.
The association cautioned that unresolved concerns could lead to disruptions in the supply chain of petroleum products nationwide.
PPDA leaders stressed that they preferred dialogue over confrontation and called on the government to reach a practical solution to safeguard the interests of both dealers and consumers.
