Web desk: Petrol prices expected to drop by Rs 2 per liter, while High-Speed Diesel set to rise by Rs 3.62 Starting January 1, 2025
According to industry insiders, the international market is currently stable in terms of supply and demand. However, geopolitical tensions, particularly concerning the situation in Syria and the approach of the new US administration towards global affairs, are contributing to a sense of uncertainty. Consequently, prices for petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL) are experiencing fluctuations at this time.The premium on petroleum stands at $8.69 per barrel, however, with the increase in diesel price by Rs 3.62 per litre, petrol prices have been reduced by over Rs 2 per litre.
For the next fortnight, the price of petrol may remain at Rs 250 20 paise per litre, while the price of diesel is likely to remain at Rs 259 per litre, after an increase of Rs 3.62 per litre.
The new price of light diesel oil (LDO) is estimated at Rs 3.30 paise, while the price of kerosene is estimated to be Rs 151.97 per liter with an increase of Rs 3.03 per litre. The price of kerosene is likely to increase marginally by Rs 0.05 per liter to Rs 161.71 per litre.
