Petrol price to remain unchanged for 2 weeks

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Saturday that the prices of petroleum products will remain unchanged for the next two weeks.

In a statement, the Prime Minister explained that the full financial benefit of this decision would be passed on to the public through reductions in electricity prices.

“We have decided to keep the petroleum prices at their current level, and all the financial benefit will be transferred to the people through lower electricity rates,” he said.

He also mentioned that a comprehensive plan to reduce electricity prices was being finalized and would be announced in the coming weeks. “We are preparing a package to cut electricity prices, and it will be revealed in the next few weeks,” he added.

PM Shehbaz reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing public relief, stating, “From the very first day in office, I pledged to focus on public welfare, and we are keeping that promise.”

He further stated, “I will personally inform the nation about the relief measures soon.”
