Petrol Pump Owners Threaten Nationwide Shutdown Over Unresolved Issues

ISLAMABAD: The All Pakistan Petroleum Pump Owners Association has warned of shutting down petrol stations across the country if their concerns are not addressed by the government.

In an official statement, the association said it has sent a letter requesting an urgent meeting with Ali Pervaiz Malik, but has yet to receive any response. It added that a similar request was also sent on March 6, which remained unanswered.

The association highlighted that the petroleum sector is facing serious challenges, including operational difficulties, financial strain, pricing concerns, and sudden policy changes. It stressed the need for the government to involve industry stakeholders in policy-making.

According to the statement, around 14,000 to 15,000 petrol pump owners across Pakistan are affected, and their issues require immediate attention.

The association cautioned that failure to resolve these matters could lead to a countrywide closure of petrol pumps, potentially disrupting fuel supply nationwide.
