PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday approved protective bail for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi until November 18.
The court’s decision came after a petition was filed by Afridi, requesting details of the cases registered against him. A bench consisting of Justices Ijaz Anwar and Naeem Anwar heard the case, with the court instructing authorities not to arrest Afridi during this period and to provide comprehensive information regarding any FIRs filed against him.
During the proceedings, Justice Ijaz Anwar asked about the number of FIRs in which Afridi is named, to which the Advocate General responded that they were unaware of the exact number, jokingly remarking that even he might have some FIRs against himself.
Outside the court, Afridi expressed his intention to meet PTI founder Imran Khan, emphasizing his role as a representative of millions and criticizing those who attempt to prevent such meetings. He also dismissed circulating reports about the cabinet list as fake, stating that the final cabinet composition would be decided after discussions with Imran Khan.
