PIA Passengers lost Goods Worth Millions Revealed

ISLAMABAD: People traveling from national carrier Pakistan International Airline (PIA) have lost as many as the worth of Rs 20 million items and goods from 2012 to 2016, audit report revealed.

As per the audit report, goods and items worth of Rs 3.575 million were disappeared from their luggage during 2012 to 2016 from Multan and Bahawalpur airports.

The national carriers’ travelers lost worth of Rs 2.423 million from Karachi airport. According to the report, the passengers lost their valuables due to the negligence of the PIA management.

As per law duty officers responsible for the passenger goods and items lost. The management was informed about the matter in 2017 but it did not take any heed.

According to the audit report, Rs 21.974 million was paid by the PIA to the passengers for the loss of their valuables.
