PIA resumes PK-661 flights between Islamabad, Chitral

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed its scheduled flights to and from Islamabad and Chitral days after an ATR plane tragically crashed near Havelian on December 7.

At the resumption PIA Flight PK661 flew from Islamabad to Peshawar and then moved on to Chitral, where it landed at 1pm.

An ATR plane was used to conduct this flight which carried 48 passengers, including the flight crew.

The same ATR will take off from Chitral at 3:50pm to reach Islamabad. An initial police report of the PIA PK661 plane crash has been filed by SHO Pervez Khan of Haveliyan Police station.

A formal FIR of the case not registered as no one has come forward with a complaint.

However, according to police sources, the police legal branch has been contacted for input on the matter. The crash resulted in the death of all 48 passengers on board.

So far PIA has not released any report on the cause of the crash. Earlier it had said the real cause of the accident would only be determined once the data from the black box had been analysed.
