PIA set to resume Islamabad-London flights after six-year pause

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has unveiled plans for a significant expansion of its UK operations with the reintroduction of direct flights to London, marking its return to the British capital after a six-year hiatus.

Starting March 29, PIA will operate four weekly flights from Islamabad to London. These flights will arrive at Heathrow Airport, utilizing the modern facilities of Terminal 4.

A PIA spokesperson highlighted that the resumption of London flights represents a pivotal moment for the airline after such a long break. They emphasized London’s historical importance as PIA’s first international destination and one of its most sought-after routes.

The national carrier is further solidifying its presence in the UK, as it is already running three weekly flights to Manchester. This new development will bolster connectivity for travelers between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, particularly benefiting the Pakistani diaspora.

The relaunch of the London route is seen as a strategic move for PIA, aiming to rebuild its international network and reclaim its position in key long-haul markets.
