ISLAMABAD: On Friday, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, presided over a key meeting to discuss the Pakistan-UK Education Gateway Phase2,
The meeting attended by senior officials, including Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC); Dr. Najeeb Ullah, Member of Science & Technology; and James Hampson, Country Director of the British Council Pakistan, along with Sarah Parvez, Head of Education at the British Council.
During the session, the participants briefed on the successes and milestones achieved during Phase 1 of the Pakistan-UK Education Gateway. The British Council had facilitated 21 Research Travel Grants and supported 8 large-scale Research Partnership Grant projects.
Furthermore, Phase 1 contributed to significant capacity-building efforts, training over 1,000 researchers and reviewers across Pakistan and certifying 51 universities for their Offices of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC).
