Appearance Before JIT: PM Asks Workers Not to Show up at FJA

Islamabad (June 13, 2017):  Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday asked party workers and supporter not to come to Federal Judicial Academy on June 15, the day when he will appear before the joint investigation team (JIT) probing money laundering allegations against his family.According to the details, Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has instructed workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)  not to arrive at Federal Judicial Academy on June 15 over his appearance before a Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

The PML-N workers wanted to come to FJA as show of solidarity with party president, however, the Prime Minister issued instructions to party cadres not to bring party workers to FJA.

The Prime Minister said that workers and supporters were asset of the party and he valued their sentiments.

He appealed his workers to remember him in their prayers.

According to Special Assistant to Prime Minister Asif Kirmani the PM had instructed party workers and supporters not to come to FJA. He added that a large numbers of PML-N workers and supporters wanted to go to the FJA to demonstrate solidarity with their leadership.

A notification of the JIT, probing the first family of Pakistan over corruption allegations, was issued late Sunday summoning the premier to appear to answer officials’ questions on June 15.

Reportedly, tight security arrangements are to be ensured for Prime Minister’s visit to the JIT headquarters on Thursday.

Boundary walls of the Federal Judicial Academy are being uplifted on emergency basis while barbed wires are to be installed ahead of the visit.
