Islamabad (July 21, 2017) A high-level meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership at Prime Minister House decided not to open any confrontation with any institution.

The PML-N leaders huddled at Prime Minister House after SC reserved its verdict on Panama case.  Senior PML-N leaderships and government legal team participated in the meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The meeting decided that the government would fight the case legally and no front will be opened against any institution.

The government resolved to accept the SC decision whether it was in favour or against it.

The meeting decided that the party will exhaust all legal and constitutional options available with it if the verdict went against the premier.

The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with federal ministers, advisers and the legal team representing the Sharif family in the Panama Papers case.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan did not attend the meetings. The minister was reportedly present in the Punjab House where he is dealing with ‘routine official work’.

Reports had surfaced earlier that Nisar, a senior PML-N figure, was displeased with the way the Panama Papers case was handled by the premier on ‘advice of certain ministers’.
