PM commends the contributions of the outgoing CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad Mirza

ISLAMABAD: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, the outgoing Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif during his farewell visit.

The Prime Minister commended General Mirza for his professional expertise and dedicated service to both the nation and the country.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza is set to complete his tenure as the 18th and final Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee on November 27, 2025.

With the implementation of the 27th Constitutional Amendment, no successor will be appointed to the position after General Mirza’s tenure.

The role of CJCSC was first introduced on March 1, 1976, with General Muhammad Sharif assuming the position under the leadership of Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
