PM Directs Completion of Uplift Projects with Transparency

Islamabad (August 04, 2017): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has directed the completion of all ongoing projects with utmost transparency.

He made these views during high level meeting in Islamabad to review the work on development projects across the country.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi expressed the resolve to continue the journey of progress and democracy initiated by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

He said all the projects including China Pakistan Economic Corridor, infrastructure, energy and economic revival of the country would be executed on priority basis.Chairman NHA briefed the meeting regarding ongoing projects of national highways. He informed the meeting that the work on 12131 km long highways and motorways being continued.

PM Abbasi also briefed over the work on CPEC and Peshawar Karachi motorway. Meeting was told that Rs 34 billion will cost of Hazara motorway while the work on Havelian-Thakot and Sukkur-Multan motorway will be completed at the end of 2019.

Talking on the occasion PM Abbasi said that the completion of Western route of CPEC was the utmost priority of the government.

PM stressed the completion of ongoing projects with rapid speed and complete transparency.

Abbasi asked his cabinet members to not travel abroad unnecessarily and ensure attendance in all parliamentary sessions.

He also said the ministers will be bound to inform the PM Office before leaving the country.

“The use of modern technology in respective ministries should be ensured and the merits of our performance must reach the people.”

He said that he had authorised the cabinet members to make decisions in their respective domains and now he wanted them to deliver.

Earlier today, Abbasi’s 43-member cabinet was sworn-in by President Mamnoon Hussain.

The new cabinet includes eight members from South Punjab, five each from Balochistan and Sindh, three from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one each from FATA and Islamabad.

The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Presidency and was attended by PML-N members and senior government officials, as well as people from other walks of life.

The members of the cabinet, speaking after the president, repeated their oath of office submitted the signed oaths to the president.

Following the oath-taking, the prime minister chaired the first session of his cabinet. The premier gave directions to the ministers to complete their designated tasks in the stipulated time period.
