PM emphasizes the need for promptly finishing development projects.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated the Shaheen Chowk underpass project in Islamabad, taking another significant step toward addressing the city’s traffic challenges.

During the ceremony, the prime minister highlighted that multiple infrastructure projects are underway across the capital to handle the growing traffic volume and enhance urban mobility. He extended his congratulations to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and their teams for their relentless efforts in transforming Islamabad into a more efficient and aesthetically appealing city.

Shehbaz Sharif stressed the importance of completing development projects on schedule, particularly with key events like the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conference on the horizon. The prime minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing full support for the swift and effective execution of these initiatives, aligning them with national priorities.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, speaking at the event, emphasized the careful and strategic design of the Shaheen Chowk underpass to streamline traffic flow. He also mentioned that work is progressing in other critical areas such as Margalla Road and 9th Avenue, where long-standing traffic issues are being addressed.
