PM Imran Khan To Reach Lahore Today

Lahore (September 23, 2018): Prime Minister Imran Khan will pay a day-long visit to Lahore today.

During his stay, the Prime Minister will meet Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

A press release issued by the Central media department of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said the members of the provincial assembly and provincial cabinet will also call on the Prime Minister.

Besides, Prime Minister Imran Khan is also scheduled to meet leaders of the local chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.Small Men Occupying Big Offices Have No Vision: ImranEarlier on September 22, Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed disappointment at the Indian response to his offer for peaceful dialogue between Islamabad and New Delhi.

The prime minister used his Twitter account to respond to India’s decision to cancel a meeting between foreign ministers of Pakistan and India on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly session in New York.

India cancelled the meeting over the killing of three policemen in occupied Kashmir and release of postal stamps glorifying martyred Kashmiri freedom fighter Burhan Wani.

However, India did not provide further details about the alleged killings.

On Thursday, following a letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi from his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan for a resumption of dialogues, New Delhi had accepted that Foreign Ministers of two countries will be meeting in New York next week on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session.

The meeting was scheduled to be held on September 27.

Reacting to Indian decision of cancellation of the meeting, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, “It is regretful India did not respond in a positive manner.” He said he was “surprised and disappointed.”

Talking to media on his way to New York, Qureshi said that New Delhi has once again demonstrated hesitation, adding that he was shocked and surprised with the development. Dialogues are the only way to resolve all outstanding issues, he asserted.

The minister said that Pakistan wishes improvement in the region but looks like New Delhi has other priorities. “Our attitude is positive but India failed to get out of politics,” he continued.
