Islamabad (July 13, 2017): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had been an employee of a Dubai based offshore company since 2014, said the Joint Investigation Team in his report submitted in the Supreme Court.
According to the report, the PM Nawaz Sharif had been serving as Chairman of Board in Capital FZE, a UAE based offshore company for 8 years and he enjoyed the salary as well. The company had been paying 10,000 ‘Dirham’ salary, housing and transport facility to Nawaz Sharif.
Capital FZE was registered by Hussain Nawaz, the eldest son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the report said. According to the details, PM Nawaz Sharif held Dubai’s ‘Iqama’ from 2006 to 2014.
“Interestingly, although respondent No 8 [Hassan Nawaz] stated that Capital FZE was created by him in anticipation of buying some properties in UAE which never materialised; was dissolved; and had no association with any family member. Yet on investigation, JIT was able to establish that not only the company remained functional till 2014 but it ostensibly was being managed under direct control of Mian Nawaz Shairf, respondent No 1 as chairman of the board,” the JIT writes in its report.
The new revelation may have far-reaching impact on the political career of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
