Sahiwal (May 25, 2017): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate the 660 MW first unit of Sahiwal Coal Power Project today.
According to the details, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif announced during a meeting with a Chinese delegation of Huaneng Group that PM Nawaz Sharif will inaugurated the Sahiwal Coal Power Project today.
The delegation also included the Chinese team members working on the power Project. Shahbaz Sharif appreciated the Chinese delegation on completion of the project before the time frame.
The Chinese delegation told Shahbaz Sharif that the 660 MW second Unit of the Sahiwal Coal Power Plant will also start generating power shortly.
Earlier, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif had said that Coal Power Plant would start power generation from May 20.
Talking to media during his visit to the plant, the chief minister said that in the first phase the pant will generate 660 MW power, which will help in cutting power load-shedding in summer.
The chief minister had visited the power plant and its different sections. He had expressed his satisfaction over the pace of work.
Shahbaz said that super critical plant was installed to protect environment. He said that the project would set a new world record regarding completion. He added that project had cost Rs192 billion.
