Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to play an effective role in combating the crime of human trafficking at the global level.
In his message on World Day Against Trafficking in Persons today, he said in last several years, the tragic incidents of drowning of ships carrying Pakistani immigrants while trying to go abroad illegally have further exposed the dangers of human trafficking.
The Prime Minister said the federal government has constituted a special task force to prevent human trafficking and related tragic incidents.
He said Pakistan through participation in platforms like the Budapest Process, the Silk Road countries, the Bali Process and others is strengthening collective efforts to prevent trafficking and protect the economically vulnerable segments of society.
