PM returns home after concluding his two-days visit to Turkiye

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has returned to the country after his two-days official visit to Turkiye on Wednesday, today, evening.

Pakistan and Türkiye have reiterated their call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the establishment of a viable, independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds al Sharif as its capital.
In a joint press conference in Ankara, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also called for unhindered humanitarian aid to reach the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The Turkish President reiterated Turkiye’s support to Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and also appreciated Pakistan’s resolute stance on Palestine issue.
He said Pakistan was one of the countries that gave strongest reaction to genocide in Gaza.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Turkiye’s unwavering support to Pakistan on Kashmir issue and reiterated Pakistan’s support to the people of Turkish republic of northern Cyprus.
Briefing the newsmen about their bilateral meeting, the two leaders said they have agreed to translate their decisions into meaningful actions.
They have also signed twenty five Memoranda of Understanding for cooperation in trade, agriculture, energy, water resources, science, education, banking, defence and health sectors.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed the hope that through their joint efforts the two countries will achieve the mutually agreed target of enhancing bilateral trade to 5 billion dollars.
He said we focus on enhancing economic cooperation particularly through joint ventures and investments in energy, IT, infrastructure, mines and minerals and agriculture sector while defence and security cooperation remaining a pillar of this cooperation.
Shehbaz Sharif thanked Turkiye’s consistent support to Pakistan in its counter terrorism efforts and called for joining hands to beat the menace of terrorism.
He said his visit has reinforced the resolve on both sides to further deepen and diversify the strategic partnership and we look forward to transforming our vision into tangible outcomes for mutual benefit of the two peoples.
Speaking on the occasion, the Turkish President said Turkiye encourages its investors to develop joint projects in Pakistan.
He said we have discussed promotion of mutual investment and allocation of free economic zones to our companies in Pakistan.
