PM reviews progress on utilization of ETPB properties for welfare purposes

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to provide facilitation in the construction of high rise buildings in the federal capital by making necessary changes in existing rules and regulations. 

Presiding over a meeting on the construction of high rise buildings in the federal capital, he said the step will help protect the green areas in Islamabad keeping in view the increasing population of capital, meet economic and residential needs of people and provide overseas Pakistanis opportunities in real estate business as well as promotion of economic activities.

The Prime Minister directed the Capital Development Authority to present a course of action within a week to make the process of approval of building design simpler and faster while increasing the share of automation.

During the meeting, CDA was also directed to take a review of policy regarding the height of buildings in ten days.

The Prime Minister also instructed the civic body to organize a future course of action for construction of high rise buildings in slums.

The meeting decided that Aviation Division and CDA will identify the areas where high rise buildings will be not allowed due to aviation.

The Prime Minister also chaired a meeting to review progress on utilization of Auqaf and Evacuee Trust properties for welfare purposes.

The meeting reviewed progress on optimum use of these properties for public welfare projects regarding education, health, shelter homes and public parks.
