Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed to formulate a comprehensive plan by the end of this month to provide farmers with easy loans and to introduce a modern agri-financing system aligned with contemporary requirements.
Chairing a meeting regarding agriculture sector in Islamabad on Thursday, he noted that Pakistan’s progress is linked to the development of the agricultural sector and value addition to farmers’ produce.
The Prime Minister said providing facilities to small farmers is among the top priorities for the development of agricultural sector.
Shehbaz Sharif said the government is accelerating reforms to provide farmers with modern agricultural machinery, quality seeds, AI technology, improved water usage, on-farm small industry and other facilities. Reforms will also include measures for providing necessary facilities and training to farmers for processing agricultural produce to boost exports.
