Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that steps are being taken for the safe return of Pakistanis from Syria.
Speaking at the federal cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the situation in Syria has changed completely in a few days, Pakistan has remained neutral on the diplomatic level on the issue of Syria, 250 pilgrims have gone to Syria from Pakistan, enough people have visited Syria. A number of Pakistanis are present, concerned about the Pakistanis trapped in Syria.
Further he said, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is in contact with the Pakistani ambassadors in Syria and Lebanon in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Evacuation of Pakistani citizens may be possible through Lebanon.
