Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday resigned as President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) while he sent his resignation to the party lifetime supremo Nawaz Sharif.
According to the party spokesman, Marryam Aurangzeb said that Shahbaz Sharif in his resignation letter wrote that his leader Nawaz Sharif premiership and presidentship were snatched unjustly in 2017.
He penned that his acquittal is an evidence of his prestige character and stainless past of nation service.
The PM said that the deposit handed over to him at a testing time is returning back to him so that he could guide the party and country.
On the other hand, a new PML-N president election would be held on May 28.
