PM Shahbaz Sharif forms high-level negotiation committee for talks with People of Azad Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: The formation of a high-level negotiation committee by Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to engage with the public action committee in Azad Kashmir is viewed as a positive and constructive step in the right direction. The committee includes senior political leaders from Pakistan Muslim League (N) and the Pakistan People’s Party.

Previously, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had provided a special relief package of 2.3 billion rupees to the people of Azad Kashmir, demonstrating his commitment to addressing their concerns.The Prime Minister not only took immediate notice of the situation but also established an extensive high-level committee, ordered transparent and impartial investigations into the unfortunate incidents, and directed urgent assistance to the affected families. These measures reflect his deep love, strong attachment, and keen interest in resolving issues faced by Kashmiris.

Addressing the importance of dialogue and democratic processes, Prime Minister Shahbaz emphasized that the best way to resolve issues is through negotiations and political dialogue. He also urged protesters to respond with democratic and peaceful conduct.If the joint public action committee does not respond positively to the Prime Minister’s offer for talks, it will become evident that their true agenda may be different from genuine dialogue.

The inclusion of prominent political figures such as Senator Rana Sanaullah, senior PPP leader and federal ministers Sardar Yousaf, Ahsan Iqbal, former President of Azad Kashmir Masood Khan, and senior PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira in the negotiation committee is considered a wise and prudent move. Political leaders are best suited to handle the current political situation effectively.

The formation of this comprehensive high-level negotiation committee, along with other initiatives, underscores Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s democratic mindset and dedication to public welfare.Earlier, the Prime Minister had dispatched Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Engineer Barjees Tahir, and Federal Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chudhry to Muzaffarabad to facilitate negotiations, which resulted in meeting some demands of the protesters. However, new demands later emerged, escalating the situation.

Once negotiations commence, the need for unrest, unrest, or protests diminishes significantly.Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has recognized the peaceful protests of citizens as their constitutional and democratic right, thus standing with the people of Azad Kashmir, To respond to the democratic and public-friendly approach of the government, protesters must ensure the protection of public and private property.

The Prime Minister has also directed law enforcement agencies to exercise patience and restraint to prevent further escalation.Upholding the constitution, law, and democratic traditions, Pakistan Muslim League (N) has always prioritized addressing the issues faced by the people of Azad Kashmir.The government has consistently prioritized resolving the grievances of Azad Kashmir’s residents.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has instructed the government’s negotiation committee to submit immediate recommendations. Upon receiving these suggestions, the government will take swift action to resolve public issues.Furthermore, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will personally oversee the negotiation process during his return to the country, ensuring that the efforts are closely monitored and effective.
