ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the leadership and citizens of Cambodia and Thailand on the signing of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord, describing it as a momentous occasion for peace and diplomacy.
He extended his appreciation to U.S. President Donald Trump for his ongoing efforts to foster peace in regions such as Gaza, South Asia, and other parts of the world.
Sharing his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister hailed the peace deal between Cambodia and Thailand as a significant achievement in regional diplomacy and partnership. He offered sincere congratulations to both nations for reaching a pivotal agreement that promises to enhance stability across Southeast Asia.
In his statement, Shehbaz Sharif characterized it as yet another landmark day for global diplomacy. He expressed admiration for President Trump’s proactive contributions toward various international peace efforts, including the Kuala Lumpur Accord and the Gaza Peace Plan.
He further lauded Trump’s unwavering dedication to fostering peace and stability, particularly in the Middle East and South Asia, noting the far-reaching impact these initiatives have had on saving countless lives worldwide.
Additionally, the Prime Minister conveyed gratitude to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Referring to him as a close ally, he commended Anwar’s relentless dedication to peacebuilding and harmony in the region.
