PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif criticized the decision to resettle people from Afghanistan, calling it a major factor behind rising terrorism. He pointed out those responsible for releasing terrorists and noted growing anti-Pakistan sentiments aligning with its adversaries.
Speaking at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Security Workshop, he acknowledged KP’s significant sacrifices in combating terrorism. The government is taking steps to enhance law and order and ensure lasting peace in the province. National security remains a top priority, with a comprehensive strategy to tackle internal and external threats. He commended security forces for their efforts against terrorism and stressed the importance of unity to eradicate this issue.
Sharif highlighted the need for equal development across provinces, stating progress in Punjab alone isn’t true national growth. He mentioned Punjab’s contribution of Rs100 billion to Balochistan, federal investments in road construction, and Rs40 billion allocated for solar tube wells in the province.
