ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached out to senior military leaders, political officials, and government representatives nationwide on Saturday to convey his greetings for Eid ul Fitr, while paying special tribute to security personnel stationed along the country’s borders.
According to official sources, the prime minister held phone conversations with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, and Chief of Naval Staff Naveed Ashraf. During these calls, he acknowledged their leadership and extended heartfelt Eid wishes.
PM Shehbaz also recognized the dedication and sacrifices of officers and troops who remain deployed far from their families to ensure national security during the festive occasion.
Beyond the military, the prime minister contacted key political figures, including provincial governors and chief ministers. Among those reached were Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
The prime minister also engaged with leaders from coalition and opposition parties, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Aimal Wali Khan, Khalid Hussain Magsi, Abdul Aleem Khan, and Chaudhry Salik Hussain.
These interactions facilitated the exchange of Eid greetings and goodwill messages across Pakistan’s civil and military leadership, reinforcing unity and mutual respect during the festival.
