PM Shehbaz orders embassies to secure overseas jobs for youth

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed Pakistani diplomatic missions abroad to enhance efforts in securing international employment for young Pakistanis.

During a review session in Islamabad, he highlighted the importance of leveraging Pakistan’s talented youth by providing them with global job opportunities.

He emphasized the need for digitizing the Emigration system and called on the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, NAVTTC, and the Youth Programme to focus on skills training, language certification, and international recognition for workers.

The PM urged embassies to accelerate the collection and sharing of overseas job data and to coordinate with foreign governments to standardize Pakistani certifications. He also stressed the importance of language training for employment abroad and requested reports on vocational training outcomes and the development of Destination Centres.

Over 800,000 youth are registered on the Digital Youth Hub, which lists jobs in sectors such as construction, agriculture, healthcare, IT, engineering, and more. Training programs are being implemented to prepare Pakistanis for these roles, with embassies expected to update the portal with relevant job opportunities and qualification requirements.
