PM Shehbaz participates in the Turkmenistan Neutrality Forum in Ashgabat

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif continued his official visit to Turkmenistan on Friday, participating in significant events at the Neutrality Monument, a prominent symbol of Turkmenistan’s enduring policy of permanent neutrality.

Upon arrival at the monument in Ashgabat, the prime minister joined other global leaders attending the Permanent Neutrality Anniversary Forum. The monument signifies Turkmenistan’s internationally acclaimed commitment to neutrality, a principle central to its foreign policy for the past thirty years.

As part of the ceremony, the prime minister, along with international leaders, placed floral tributes at the monument as a gesture of respect toward this guiding principle. The event marked the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutral stance, drawing leaders from various nations to Ashgabat in recognition of this milestone.

This forum underscores Turkmenistan’s efforts to promote peace, trust, and neutrality on both regional and global platforms. President Sardar Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan extended a warm reception to Prime Minister Sharif and other visiting dignitaries participating in the commemorative event.

Prime Minister Sharif has a packed agenda in Ashgabat, which includes attending a high-level forum focused on peace, trust, and neutrality. His participation reflects Pakistan’s dedication to fostering dialogue and advancing regional stability.

In addition to attending multilateral discussions, the prime minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with world leaders at the forum. These discussions aim to strengthen diplomatic partnerships and explore opportunities for cooperation on critical regional and global challenges.
