New power tariffs under PM relief pkg for various domestic, commercial slabs

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has unveiled a major relief package for consumers, slashing electricity prices across various categories. The new rates are set to ease the financial burden on households and businesses alike.

As per the new pricing structure, lifeline consumers using up to 50 units will pay Rs.4.78 per unit, while those using 51 to 100 units will continue to pay Rs.9.37 per unit.

For protected consumers using 1 to 100 units, the price has been reduced by Rs.6.14 per unit, bringing the rate down from Rs.14.67 to Rs.8.52 per unit.

Electricity rates for consumers using 101 to 200 units have been cut by Rs.6.14per unit, lowering the rate from Rs.17.65 to Rs.11.51 per unit.

Non-protected consumers using up to 300 units will benefit from a Rs.7.24 reduction per unit, with the new rate set at Rs.34.03, down from Rs.41.26. For those using more than 300 units, the price has dropped from Rs.55.70 to Rs.48.46 per unit.

Domestic consumers will see a reduction of Rs.6.71 per unit, bringing their electricity rate from Rs.38.34 to Rs.31.63 per unit.

Commercial consumers will experience a substantial price drop of Rs.8.58 per unit, lowering their rate from Rs.71.06 to Rs.62.47 per unit.

For general services consumers, the rate has been reduced by Rs.7.18 per unit, bringing it down from Rs.56.66 to Rs.49.48 per unit.

Industrial consumers will benefit from Rs.7.69 reduction per unit, with the new rate set at Rs.40.51, down from Rs.48.19 per unit.

Bulk consumers will see a price decrease of Rs.7.18per unit, with the rate now set at Rs.47.87, down from Rs.55.05 per unit.

These changes reflect the government’s commitment to easing the financial strain on various consumer categories and promoting energy affordability across the nation.
