ISLAMABAD: In a phone conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif highlighted Egypt’s vital contribution to fostering stability and peace in the Middle East.
During the call, the Prime Minister extended warm Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to President El-Sisi and the people of Egypt, who warmly reciprocated the wishes, expressing their solidarity with Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to deepening bilateral ties with Egypt across various sectors of mutual interest. He also commended Egypt’s proactive diplomatic stance in regional and global affairs, emphasizing its important role in supporting peace initiatives in the Middle East.
The two leaders discussed the current developments in Iran and the Gulf region. Both expressed concern over ongoing tensions and agreed on the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement to reduce hostilities and restore peace and stability in the area.
