ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must be eradicated “at all costs,” while stressing that the province’s development should keep pace with the rest of the country.
He made the remarks on Wednesday during a meeting with Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam. The two discussed matters concerning KP, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
The prime minister acknowledged the sacrifices made by the people of KP in the fight against terrorism and said the government wanted the province to progress alongside other regions of Pakistan.
During the meeting, Shehbaz also directed Muqam to take effective measures to improve public facilities in AJK and GB. He said the government considered the development and prosperity of both regions a priority.
The discussions covered regional affairs and steps to support residents through improved services and development initiatives.
