ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will leave for Saudi Arabia tomorrow on a two-day visit to participate in the “One Water Summit” in Riyadh.
The Water Summit, a joint initiative by Saudi Arabia, France, Kazakhstan, and the World Bank, seeks to foster global cooperation and a unified international approach to water resource management through high-level political commitments.
At the Summit, the Prime Minister will deliver a keynote address at a roundtable focused on the restoration, preservation, and adaptation of freshwater resources and wetlands. He will also outline Pakistan’s efforts to advance water conservation, enhance climate resilience, improve water quality, create sustainable livelihoods, and protect biodiversity.
The Prime Minister will emphasize the critical need for international collaboration to address the impacts of climate-induced floods, extreme weather patterns, and heat stress on water resources and ecosystems. He will advocate for meaningful global cooperation to ensure the sustainable management of water resources. On the sidelines of the Summit, the Prime Minister is expected to engage in a series of bilateral meetings and discussions
