WEB DESK: Cold and dry conditions are anticipated to dominate across much of the country on Monday, while hilly regions are expected to face extremely frigid weather. According to the forecast from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan might experience partly cloudy skies with sporadic light rain and snowfall.
Moderate to dense fog is likely to blanket the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the morning and night, potentially causing disruptions to road traffic.
Breaking down the forecast further by region, Islamabad and its surrounding areas are set to have cold and partly cloudy weather.
In Punjab, the majority of districts will witness cold and dry conditions. However, the Potohar region could observe partly cloudy skies by evening or night. Murree, Galyat, and nearby locations are expected to experience extremely cold temperatures under partly cloudy skies. Dense to moderate fog is forecast in multiple districts, including Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Mianwali, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.
Sindh will continue to experience predominantly cold and dry weather. Morning and nighttime fog may develop in Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Larkana, Tando Jam, Mohenjodaro, and Jacobabad.
Most areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are predicted to remain cold and dry. However, regions such as Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, and surrounding locations might see partly cloudy weather along with light rain or light snowfall. Fog ranging from light to moderate is expected in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, and nearby areas during morning and night hours.
Balochistan will generally observe cold and dry weather conditions, though northern districts are likely to endure very cold temperatures under partly cloudy skies.
Kashmir is set for very cold and partly cloudy weather as well. Similarly, Gilgit-Baltistan will experience severe cold with occasional light rain and snowfall in select areas.
