Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday challenged the PECA (Amendment) Ordinance, 2022 in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The PML-N petition prayed to the court to declare the amendment null and void since it was against the constitution,
Talking to the media after filing the petition, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said the party had challenged four amendments made to the original PECA by the government.
“This is not a government, but an ordinance-manufacturing factory. The government could not coerce the people into submission,” she said, and asked Prime Minister Imran Khan and his team to call it a day and go home.
Yesterday, it was reported that like other opposition parties, the PML-N, which, too, had rejected the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) Amendment Ordinance, had announced that it would soon challenge it in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
