Karachi: The investigation continues into the assassination attempt on famous religious scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani as Karachi police get the forensic report of the weapon used in the attack on Mufti Taqi.
According to police, the weapon used in the attack on religious scholar was not used before in any other criminal activity.
The attackers used three 125 CC Honda bikes. It is being anticipated that the first team chased Taqi’s car from the Korangi Industrial area while the second team followed him from Dalmia area.
The police team is investigating the murder from different angles.
On the other hand, a video statement of injured Mufti Taqi Usmani’s driver has also surfaced.
“I am unable to tell the actual number of attackers as I couldn’t see the terrorists clearly,” he told in a video.
It must be noted that prominent religious scholar Mufti Mohammad Taqi Usmani survived an assassination attempt last week as unidentified gunmen opened fire on two vehicles in Karachi.
According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Zone Amir Farooqi, police guard Farooq and private guard Sanobar Khan, son of Shaukat Khan were killed in the attack.
