KARACHI: The police in Karachi arrested 15 individuals, including Sami Din Baloch, near Zainab Market during a protest by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC)
The protest, organized by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and civil society, took place outside Zainab Market in the Saddar area of Karachi. The demonstration was led by Sami Din Baloch. The protesters demanded the release of all detained individuals, including Mah Rang Baloch. During the protest, clashes occurred between the police and the demonstrators, resulting in the arrest of Sami Din Baloch and 15 other protesters.
In response to the protest, the police blocked roads around the Karachi Press Club with barriers, causing severe traffic jams on roads such as Saddar, Shahrah-e-Faisal, and I.I. Chundrigar Road. Commuters were stuck in traffic for hours, with some forced to break their fast on the roads during Ramadan.
Earlier, a protest was also held outside the Press Club against the Baloch Unity Committee. The demonstrators demanded that the committee condemn the mass killings of workers in Baluchistan and the Jafar Express incident.
