WEB DESK: Terrorists attacked a police checkpoint in Dera Ghazi Khan, but the troops successfully thwarted the attempt.
According to the DPO, terrorists launched an attack on the police checkpoint in Lakhai during the pre-dawn hours with heavy weapons.
A police spokesperson reported that an armed group of 15 to 20 terrorists attacked a checkpoint in the early morning hours, by using heavy firepower, including rocket launchers.
However, the personnel carried out a timely counter-response, successfully thwarting the attack. The terrorists escaped due to the police’s return fire.
This was the second major incident that happened in six days following a prior assault on the Dera Ghazi Khan’s Lakhani checkpoint on the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border, which was also successfully repelled.
