Police launches crackdown over PTI workers as deadline for ‘much-hyped’ Islamabad rally ends.

ISLAMABAD: The ICT authorities stated that the organisers violated the rules and regulations by not concluding the gathering before the 7pm deadline, the Police started crackdown on PTI workers, in response PTI workers pelted stones at security personal.

The rally kicked off with tight security in the federal capital as the participants of the rally gathered at the venue, as the PTI leaders addressed the gathering, Islamabad district administration issued a notification of the deadline for rally conclusion, according to which, the party is suppose to wrap up the event by 7pm.

The district magistrate has issued notice to PTI Islamabad chapter Amir Mughal. In this notice, the violations of the code of conduct in line with holding the power show highlighted.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad district administration had decided to take legal action against the PTI for not holding its power show in the allocated time according to the NOC.

The PTI allowed to hold the power show from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The deputy commissioner had made it clear that the legal action would be take against the PTI, the Police started the crackdown against PTI workers.

In response the crackdown, PTI workers started to pelting stone over Islamabad Police, injured many Police personal including the including Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shoaib Khan.

Naqvi had held a telephonic conversation with the injured SSP. On this occasion, the interior minister had inquired after the health of the injured SSP.

Meanwhile, Naqvi had summoned the report from the Islamabad IG over the matter.
