Police Nab JuD’s Rehman Makki From Gujranwala

LAHORE: Punjab Police have arrested Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki a key leader of a banned outfit Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) over hate speeches, AbbTakk TV reported on Wednesday.

According to sources, Hafiz Abul Rehman Makki is accused of delivering hate speech in Gujranwala a few days ago. He is also charged for gathering funds for the banned JuD.

Sources have further disclosed that he is being taken into custody as part of the ongoing National Action Plan (NAP).

Home department and officials of the Punjab Police have confirmed the arrest of the JuD leader. He was arrested from Gujranwala.

However, no details have been revealed by the official sources yet.

Makki who is the brother-in-law of JuD’s chief Hafiz Saeed was head of the JuD’s political and international affairs wing and was also looking after its charity outfit Falah-e-Insaniat, which has also been added in the list of the banned outfits by the interior ministry.
