KARACHI: District South Police on Monday nabbed the second suspect involved in the killing of two people including a policeman in Karachi.
Sources have stated that the second suspect taken into police custody is identified as Hasan who, along with his friend Nazeer, opened fire at 26th Street area of Defence Phase-VI in the metropolis under influence of drugs.
Police are still on the search for the other companions of the two suspects; Sanaullah and Bilal.
Investigation is underway to find the accomplices of suspects involved in the shooting, sources said.
On the other hand, FIR has been filed by the police in Defence police station under criminal act no. 203/2019 against five nominated accused including charges of murder, attempt of murder and terrorism.
On Sunday, police apprehended a suspect allegedly involved in shooting two persons to death including a cop.
SSP South Pir Muhammad Shah while talking to media has revealed that the apprehended suspect is an addict to alcohol and ice.
“The culprit was arrested from a private hospital in the injured state,” said SSP South.
“Accused has been identified by the injured and other eyewitnesses and belonged to Chaghi area of Balochistan,” added PM Shah.
“The apprehended suspect was drunk and opened unconditional firing in an unconscious state and possess a license issued from Jaffarabad district of Balochistan,” concluded Pir Muhammad Shah.
Policeman Among Two Killed In Karachi
In the early hours of Sunday, two people were killed including a police officer and one other got injured in a firing incident at Defence Phase-VI area of the metropolis.
Few unknown armed assailants opened fire at 26th Street area of Defence Phase-VI in the metropolis. As a result, two people were killed including a police official on the spot and one other was injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers were drunk and managed to flee from the crime scene easily after the incident.
“The deceased cop was deployed at Police Station Darkhshan and identified as Khalid,” said SP Suhai Aziz.
“Another person killed in the incident was identified as Ramzan and the injured is identified as Saeed,” she added.
Police have registered a case and started its investigations into the incident. According to initial investigations, the attackers used 9mm pistols for the crime.
