Polio virus in environmental samples in Punjab rings alarm bell: Polio Program Chief Punjab

Lahore: Chief of polio program in Punjab Khizer Iqbal has said that the presence of polio virus in the environmental samples has rung bell of danger in the province.

Khizer Iqbal said that the polio virus is present around us adding we can save only by administrating polio drop to every child of the province.

As much time we will administer the polio drops it will make their immunity strong, he said.

The chief of polio program said that it is a high time when we have to defeat polio. while we have reached near eradicating the virus.

He said that in the next year summer will be more intense while Eid Ul Alazha is also much closer.

He said that during the Eid days people traveling from one city to another increase adding it is high transmission time when chances of transfering of polio virus are more.

He apprised that anti-polio campaign will kick off from tomorrow June 3 in six districts of Punjab which included Lahore, Rawalpindi, Mianwali, Okara, Faisalabad and Multan.
