Political analysts slams the BJP-led Indian regime’s attempts to project an illusion of peace and normalcy in IIOJK

WEB DESK: The political Analysts deplored that Kashmir is engulfed in an oppressive atmosphere characterized by killings, arbitrary arrests and torture.

Indian government illegally revoked Article 370 of the Constitution in 2019 thereby stripping Jammu and Kashmir of its special status, later Indian government continues to claim that the situation in occupied Kashmir is peaceful.

However, the reality is completely contrary to the false claims, the security situation in the occupied territories is worsening day by day owing to the oppression of the Indian government, the Modi government is gradually taking control of occupied Kashmir through the military as a result, the role and influence of the civilian administration is diminishing, in occupied Kashmir, the military has more resources and control than in any other part of India.

In a recent move, Colonel Vikrant Prashar from India’s elite Para Regiment was appointed as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Police, overseeing training and special operations. The BJP government under Modi claimed that the revocation of Kashmir’s special status would pave the way for development and the end of violence in the illegally occupied region.

However, arming the Indian police with heavy weaponry has exposed the Modi government’s claim of providing a peaceful environment in occupied Kashmir, India cannot change the disputed status of Kashmir through its military presence.

Occupied Kashmir has become the most militarized region in the world, with over a million Indian troops deployed, India is misleading the international community about the true situation in occupied Kashmir.
Through its law enforcement agencies, India is suppressing dissent and enforcing harsh laws.

It is evident that India is expanding its Hindutva agenda through military force, The world needs to understand that lasting peace in South Asia is only possible when the Kashmir issue is resolved in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions, granting the people of Jammu and Kashmir their right to self-determination.
