National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has slashed the power tariff by Rs 3.60 a unit under the head of fuel adjustment and a mere 60-paisa (Rs 0.60) interim reduction for the consumers of KElectric.
The reduction will offer Rs 24 billion relief to the power consumers.
NEPRA made the decision after hearing the petition filed by power distribution companies over the reduction under the head of fuel adjustment. During the hearing CPPA proposed Rs 3.60 reduction for November in power tariff which NEPRA approved.
Nepra also heard the petition filed by KElectric over reduction in tariff under the head of fuel adjustment for the month of November. Approving the plea NEPRA approved 60-piasa reduction per unit.
