PPP announces sit-ins against Federation over electric, gas load shedding

ISLAMABAD: Opposition strongly protested against electricity load shedding in National Assembly, Abid Sher Ali, when talked over electricity theft and line losses in Sindh, then Khursheed Shah asked Abid Sher Ali not to prove himself as good after leveling allegations on others, whereas Abid Sher Ali said that he will slice the necks of the staff if load shedding is above schedule.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq chaired National Assmebly session, there was uproar in the House over line losses and electricity theft. PTI member National Assembly Aqibullah questioned Abid Sher Ali, whether there are televisions installed in mosques as well, if not then why there is a TV fees in the bill of mosques. State Minister Abid Sher Ali replied that there is a portion in every mosque where there is television, therefore fees is received.

Abid Sher Ali said that 500 billion rupees are received from different institutions and governments in terms of electricity bills, on which leader of the opposition Khursheed Shah urged Abid Sher not to attempt to make himself as good after leveling allegations on others. Shah said that the deficit of Lahore is four percent higher than the whole Sindh. There is no industry in Sindh, just there is farming.

PTI MNA Amjad Ali Khan complained that there is extreme load shedding in Mianwali, on which Abid Sher Ali said that load shedding is according to schedule everywhere, if there is excessive load shedding then he will cut throats of his staf.

Minister for Water and Power Khawaj Asif told the House in written reply that an addition of 3870 MW is likely in electricity production during June. There will be a four hour load shedding of four hours in urban areas and six hours in rural areas in June.
