Lahore (August 19, 2017) After Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) also challenged the acceptance of nomination papers of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz for NA-120 By-election by Returning Officer in the Election Tribunal.
PPP candidate for NA-120 by-election Faisal Mir approved the Election Tribunal against the RO decision to accept the nomination papers of Kulsoom Nawaz.
Naming Kulsoom Nawaz, RO, Election Commission of Pakistan, NAB and FIA as respondent the PPP candidate has pleaded the tribunal to overturn the RO decision to accept the papers.
He has taken the plea that following Nawaz’s disqualification PML-N registration has ceased to exist hence Kulsoom can not take part in the election on PML-N ticket.
PAT candidate Ishtiaq Chaudhry has already challenged the decision of the returning officer to accepted the nomination papers of Kulsoom.
