ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) has agreed on power sharing formula for coalition government.
After rounds of negotiations and discussions, the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have reached a comprehensive power-sharing agreement, heralding a new chapter in the country’s political landscape.
Under the terms of the agreement, Asif Zardari, the seasoned leader of the PPP, will ascend to the presidency, marking a significant return to national leadership for the party.
In another key development, the position of Chairman Senate will be entrusted to the People’s Party, underscoring their growing influence in the upper echelons of government.
Moreover, the presidency, a symbol of national authority, will also be vested in the hands of the PPP, reaffirming their pivotal role in shaping the country’s future trajectory.
Conversely, the prestigious position of Prime Minister will be held by the PML-N, reflecting their enduring prominence in Pakistani politics and governance.
In a bid to ensure regional representation and inclusivity, the post of Chief Minister of Baluchistan will be allocated to the PPP, empowering them to address the province’s unique challenges and aspirations.
Additionally, sources indicate that the Speaker of the National Assembly will hail from the ranks of the PML-N, further cementing their position in the legislative realm. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Senate, a pivotal parliamentary role, will be appointed from the PPP, ensuring a balanced distribution of authority.
