Hyderabad: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhuttho has said that the people of Sindh have rejected canals project and announced that the PPP will also hold political gathering in Sukkur on April 25 to repeat its demand along with the people.
Addressing the people at Hathri by-pass in Hyderabad, Bilawal Bhutto declared a just distribution of water for the federation a sensitive issue.
Opposing the canal project, the PPP chairman said that the party would not compromise on its principles.
He suggested the federation to use modern technologies to make Chaulistan and Tharparkar, a habitable places to live.
He said that the constructions of canals would not be allowed on the Indus river while he ensured the people the party will always stand for protection of their rights.
The young chairman congratulated the Jiyalas over the victory on NA-213 in by-elections.
He said that the people of Sindh once again proved that their votes belonged to Benazir adding who ever come to face PPP, the people are always with the party.
He also expressed thanks to people over giving a historic defeat to opponents in the Umer Kot by-election.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, PPP Sindh’s President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and other leaders of the party also spoke.
